Doing good while having fun. With its “Casino on Tour” mobile casino experience, Casinos Austria has found yet another way to combine gaming fun with humanitarian engagement.
Be it Roulette, Blackjack or Poker, the “Casino on Tour” is always a welcome guest at festive events. It provides an entertaining and – thanks to our experienced croupiers – most charming distraction and can be used at all manner of different events – from glamorous balls to company functions or trade fairs. It is also a firm fixture at the “Ball of all Balls” – the Vienna Opera Ball – where the familiar call of “Mesdames et Messieurs, faîtes vos jeux” has resounded each year since 1981. For almost 40 years, the “Opera Ball Casino” has become a “branch” of Casino Wien for the evening, giving ball guests the chance to enjoy a flutter between dances – all, of course, for a good cause.
So, how does it work? The answer is simple: players at the “Casino on Tour” tables don’t play for money. Instead they make a donation and in return receive chips with no cash value, which they can then place, for example, on their lucky number on the Roulette table. Winners receive attractive non-cash prizes provided by either the event organizer or Casinos Austria. The money raised is donated in full to a charitable cause.
In 2018 alone, the “Casino on Tour” was in use on 258 occasions and raised almost 81,000 euros for a range of charity projects, organizations and initiatives.
These included the Lebenshilfe social aid organization, the Malteser Kinderhilfe children’s aid agency, the Kinderhilfe children’s aid agency in Upper Austria, the DEBRA charity to support children with epidermolysis bullosa, the Pink Ribbon initiative, the “Gruft” homeless shelter run by Caritas in Vienna or the SOS Children’s Villages. Funds were also raised to support victims of natural disasters and families in need. In short, the “Casino on Tour” is a great example of how good entertainment can benefit a good cause.
