4. Promotion of Research and Cooperation with Counseling Centers and Treatment Facilities

The Casinos Austria and Austrian Lotteries Group remains in constant contact with an international network of gambling research experts and institutes to share knowledge and experience.

The European Association for the Study of Gambling (EASG) assumes an important role as a think tank and interface between research, business, politics and regulatory authorities. Its numerous research projects provide scientific data on the role of gambling in society. The work of this think tank is managed by an Executive Committee, while a separate Scientific Committee monitors the scientific quality of its projects.

There are still many myths and stories about gambling. The EASG seeks to counter these with hard facts. That is a demanding and tremendously important task.
Dietmar Hoscher, Director, Casinos Austria AG

The activities of the EASG include a Conference on Gambling Studies and Policy Issues that is held every two years. In 2018, this conference was held in Malta.
