Good Training and Motivation

At the Casinos Austria and Austrian Lotteries Group, we are committed to offering an attractive working environment that encourages innovation and development. We place particular importance on providing our staff with excellent training and further education opportunities.

We are also aware that the first few days in a new company are decisive when it comes to developing that all-important sense of satisfaction and belonging. We therefore organize a Welcome Day for new staff to give them an inspiring start to their career in our organization.

Welcome Days

In the 2018 fiscal year, our Group hired a total of 828 new members of staff. We organized three Welcome Days throughout the year to help them to integrate and to foster networking across the Group. At these Welcome Days, the “newbies” learn about all our Business Units. They also receive an introduction into the topics of responsible gaming, compliance, information security and CSR.

Discovery Days

As part of Casinos Austria’s Junior Leadership Program (JLP), our Human Resources Division organized two “Discovery Days” in June and July 2018 for all program participants. The goal of these events was to familiarize them with our headquarters in Vienna and our other Business Units and provide them with an opportunity to establish and expand their internal networks.

Best Recruiters 2018/19

Our recruiting teams successfully maintained the high rankings they had received in the previous year: in the 2018 “Best Recruiters” ranking for the “Services” category, Austrian Lotteries was ranked in first place for the third time, closely followed by Casinos Austria in second place.

New Leadership Workshop Concept

Our Leadership Workshop has been a key element in our management development program since 2012. It helps newly appointed managers to grow into their new role. The training program plays a decisive part in allowing new managers to work on this new role outside of “daily business” and gives them the time and space to do so. It also provides them with an extensive range of valuable tools, methods and tips.

The three modules in the Leadership Workshop are continuously evaluated and updated. The participants are thus confronted with important topics for the future (e.g. increasing complexity and dynamics) and prepared for new leadership challenges. In addition, the curriculum also incorporates all current areas of focus (e.g. diversity) in the Group.

The program is rounded of with a fireside chat with the Management Board and Head of Human Resources to share everyday management experiences and discuss the future challenges for the Group.
